Fixings to suit steel, glass fibre and aluminium bodywork; see the tie in the right picture, draped out over the shroud.
Protects paintwork whilst working in the engine bay from boiler suit zip, studs; and other possible knocks and scratches.
Whilst wing covers are pretty much universal (subject only to length) a shroud is much more tailored to an individual car model, although some commonality does arise eg Jaguar Mk2 and Jaguar S type, Rolls Royce Silver Shadow and Silver Spirit.
Which means that we must acquire a pattern for each one we make. So far Austin-Healey and some models of Aston Martin, Bentley, Daimler, Ford, Jaguar, MG, Mercedes-Benz and Rolls Royce.
